Max Schireson, the CEO of NoSQL leader 10gen, The MongoDB Company, will provide a perspective on the state of the database market, and in particular the role carved out by NoSQL products.
As CEO of 10gen, The MongoDB Company, Max is responsible for building and extending 10gen/MongoDB's market leadership. Prior to joining 10gen, Max spent 7 years at MarkLogic, provider of a database for unstructured information, where he played a variety of executive roles including Chief Operating Officer. Under Schireson’s leadership, MarkLogic ranked as the 4th fastest growing software company in Silicon Valley in Deloitte’s 2008 Technology Fast 50. Prior to MarkLogic, Max spent 9 years at Oracle where he served as Chief Applications Architect and Vice President, ECommerce and Self Service Applications. Max enrolled to study Mathematics at UC Berkeley at age 14 but in classic Silicon Valley fashion left for the technology industry without a degree.
